« All goods imported or exported must be declared with detailed documentation to assign them a customs regime. ».

There are two customs clearance procedures :

  • Detailed declaration written or digital submission using special forms.
  • Simplified procedure.

For the detailed declaration, a submission must be made in writing on special forms or in digital format.

The detailed declaration must be accompanied by supporting documents:

  • Invoice ;
  • Packing list ;
  • Import intention ;
  • Transport document ;
  • Certificate of origin (for origin-specific goods) ;
  • Phytosanitary certificate (for food products) ;

Note : Since 2018, physical inspections are no longer mandatory for shipments to Mali. A documentary review is sufficient, where the supplier sends invoices and packing lists to the inspection body for verification before loading.

Mandatory Insurance: All imports require an import intention and subscription to local insurance.

For Exporting Malian Goods

Exported goods must have their origin defined to qualify for preferential taxes, especially for destination countries requiring a certificate of origin.
